Do you enjoy being on stage and have you always wanted to wow the audience with your performance?

Your cosplay isn’t complete if you can’t make an incredible appearance in it? Is performing just in your blood? Then this competition is perfect for you!

The Cosplay Performance Contest is all about your performance. Of course, a cosplay is a must. The costume is not judged in this competition. Instead, the rating is based on how your cosplay moves during the performance and how well you can interact with it.

Rules:

• The jury evaluates the performance according to authenticity, entertainment value, originality or recognition value, and realization.
• The first 3 places will be chosen.
• For couples and groups of 2 or more people, the average grade is divided by the number of people.
• If you would like to submit an audio file, please consider shortening it in advance to the length of your performance or the maximum length of 3 minutes (max. 5 minutes for groups of 2-3 people). All common formats such as mp3, flac, oga or m4a are permitted, with a max. File size of 5MB.
• During the stage presentation, no visitors may be endangered by the costume, by the launching of objects or other dangerous actions that could lead to injury.
• Please keep your performance adult-free (no depiction of violence or pornographic content). Please make sure that your costumes fit well.
• Use shorts/safety pants to avoid wardrobe mishaps. The costume and the stage presentation must not exceed FSK 16.
• Weapons that do not comply with the weapons or house rules and have been marked as such by security are only permitted for the duration of the performance and must be handed in at the checkroom for the rest of the time.
• The use of liquids on the stage is prohibited.
• An additional helper may be used on the stage.
• Own characters (OCs) are allowed.
• Start numbers will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received.
• The winnersinnen werden im Zuge der Preisverleihung am Sonntag den 15.02. 2026 bekannt gegeben. Mit der Teilnahme am Cosplay Performance der KokoroKon 2026 stimmen Teilnehmer to be filmed and photographed by the dedicated team.
• Cosplay is a prerequisite. However, it doesn’t have to be homemade.
• All performances are permitted, whether dance, monologue, dialog, etc.

A cosplay contest is of course a must at KokoroKon! Meldet euch bis 31.01.2026 mit den erforderlichen Daten an und überzeugt zuerst die Jury in der Vorbewertung und später das Puplikum beim Catwalk auf der Bühne mit eurem Kostüm!
No performance is necessary!

But that’s not all! At the Kokorokon you have the chance to qualify for the Tournament of Champions qualify! Das Finale findet auf der YuniCon 2026 statt!

In the final, you will represent Austria and compete against 14 other international participants!

Rules:

• Costumes that have already placed in other competitions are excluded from participation. The same applies to OCs.
• Modifications of characters are only eligible with proper reference, such as Zach Fischer versions of Blizzard characters or Hannah Alexander designs, etc.
• Furthermore, costumes that are not 80-90% self-made will be disqualified (exceptions are e.g. shoes, the use of a third-party printer for 3D printing, etc.).
• Also excluded are all persons who have not reached the minimum age of 18 years at the time of pre-selection.
• If one or more reasons for exclusion/disqualification are only discovered after the event, any ranking will be retroactively revoked by disqualification.
• By registering for this competition, you agree to return any prizes in such a case.

Important: We need a portfolio in PDF format!
This should include:

• min. 1 to max. 5 well detailed reference images
• 15 bis max. 40 WIPs (Work In Progress Bilder, also Bilder von eurem Arbeitsprozess mit einer ausführlichen Beschreibung)
• A list of the materials used
• A rough estimate of your working hours
• (Brief) description of your work steps as well as your choice of materials (preferably in English)
• Picture of the 70-80% completed cosplay
• The portfolio should not exceed 30 pages.
• A reference image of the character (displayed on stage, max. 5 MB).

Each participant will be allocated a starting number and a time slot for their pre-judging. Please be there at least 10 minutes before your pre-judging slot to avoid delays.

Preselection:

Due to the limited number of 20 participants, we will make a pre-selection in cooperation with a selected jury. In this case, the pre-selection jury is not the jury for the final competition and only serves to evaluate the individual applications. It is therefore important that your portfolio is as complete as possible.

Rules

• You must have reached the age of 18 at the time of registration!
• Cosplays from anime, games, movies, series, manga, etc. are allowed. (no own creations)
• The cosplay should be at least 50% self-made.
• All critical areas of the body must be covered. (genitals)
• Even if we like it dirty and messy, please do not use any liquids, glitter or similar substances that are difficult to clean during the performance.
• Photos may only be taken during the performance with the consent of the cosplayer. Violation of this rule will result in removal from the 18+ area.
• Please make sure that you do not injure yourself or others during your performance.
• During the performance you can and may strip down to your underwear.
• A stage appearance is not absolutely necessary (a simple catwalk is sufficient), but is appreciated
• The performance may be 18+ (touching each other indecently, sticking out buttocks, vulgar poses, etc.)
• Your cosplay must not have already placed in any other competition

Judging: Only your cosplay will be judged in this competition Your cosplay can collect up to 10 points in each of the following categories: Sewing, Crafting/Mechanics/Electronics, Armor Building, Prop Building, Makeup&Wig.

There are no category winners!

The winners will be chosen by our “expert” jury and a public favorite will also be selected. The number of winners will be chosen according to the number of people taking part.

• Photos/videos may only be taken during the performance with the consent of the cosplayer. Violation of this rule will result in removal from the 18+ area.
• Please make sure that you do not injure yourself or others during your performance.
• Videos cannot be played during the performance. But music/dialogue does.
• Requisiten/Props dürfen benutzt werden. Beachte jedoch, dass die Bühne nicht sehr groß ist (ca. 4x3m)

Judging: In this competition only the performance will be judged!

Performance: acting and staging (15), media quality and use of stage props (5), creativity and entertainment (10)
