Create your own stamps

presented by lorared.illustration

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of stamp art and discover how you can create your own personal stamp using simple
tools. In this workshop
we combine craftsmanship with cultural inspiration – in particular the Japanese
tradition of Hanko.

In Japan, personal stamps (hanko or inkan) have a long history: they serve
as signatures, as a means of artistic expression and even as lucky charms. Stamps are also an important element in
Japanese calligraphy and modern design.

Together we discover:
– A brief introduction to Japanese stamp culture (hanko and traditional
seal art)
– Techniques for designing and transferring motifs
– Materials such as linoleum plates and rubber stamps for making stamps
– Carving techniques for beginners (no previous knowledge required)
– Tips for designing your own signatures or symbols in a Japanese-inspired style

At the end, you can take your self-carved stamp home with you – perfect
for personal letters, notebooks, gift wrapping or simply as a creative
expression of your personality.

Duration: approx. 1h
Number of participants: max. 10 persons
Language: German
Material: will be provided (incl. carving tools, stamping material, ink pad etc.)

Optional:
Feel free to bring your own ideas or sketches, for example your name in
Japanese, a favorite symbol or an animal motif.
